Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Bathalegala called Bible Rock?

British colonial surveyors named it "Bible Rock" because its unique flat-topped surface resembles an open Bible from a distance.

The hike from the base parking area to the flat summit takes approximately 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on your fitness level.

It is considered a moderate hike with clear paths and constructed stone steps near the summit climb.
