Dambadeniya Ancient Kingdom is an important historical site located in the Kurunegala District of Sri Lanka. It became the capital of Sri Lanka during the 13th century and played an important role in the island’s history during the reign of King Vijayabahu III and King Parakramabahu II.
Today, the site contains ancient ruins, temples, stone structures, and remains of the old royal complex. The peaceful surroundings also make Dambadeniya a great place to explore Sri Lanka’s royal history, Buddhist heritage, and ancient architecture.
