Gadaladeniya Raja Maha Viharaya, also known as the Gadaladeniya Temple, is an ancient Buddhist temple situated near the city of Kandy. This Buddhist monument was built in the 14th century by the ruling monarch Bhuvanekabahu IV of the island nation of Sri Lanka. Gadaladeniya Raja Maha Viharaya was built with the design skills of a South Indian architect, depicting a heavy touch of Dravidian art forms in its construction done mainly in stone materials.
