Day-by-Day Itinerary

1 | The Journey to Sacred Nainativu

Your northern island adventure begins with a morning drive to the Kurikadduwan (KKD) Pier. From there, you can take a local ferry to the holy island of Nainativu. You can spend the day exploring the deeply revered multi-religious spots, including the ancient Nagadeepa Purana Viharaya and the colorful Nagapooshani Amman Hindu Temple. In the afternoon, you can head back to the mainland or your island guesthouse to experience the peaceful, distinctive rural lifestyle of the northern islands.

2 | The Wilds of Delft Island & Departure

Get ready for an adventure-filled ferry ride to Delft Island, the most isolated inhabited island in Sri Lanka. Get into a local truck or tuk-tuk to discover the special attractions of this island. You will witness a large number of wild ponies roaming freely on the island, interesting coral walls created by the locals, the gigantic alien-like Baobab tree, and the remains of a colonial Dutch Fort. In the afternoon, return to the pier by ferry, thus ending your thrilling 2-day adventure in the north.
