Known as the “Little Niagara of Sri Lanka,” this stunning cascade flows through lush green tea estates and consists of two sections: Maha Ella (Greater Fall) and Kuda Ella (Lesser Fall). How can we arrive?
St. Clair’s Falls can be easily reached by bus, train, or private vehicle. Visitors can travel to Talawakele from nearby cities and access the waterfall viewpoint through the scenic hill-country roads, enjoying beautiful views of tea estates and mountains along the way.
By Bus
Take a bus towards Talawakele from Nuwara Eliya, Hatton, or Colombo. Get down near the St. Clair’s Falls viewpoint on the Hatton–Talawakele Road and enjoy the scenic view of the waterfall.
By Train
Travel by train along the Colombo–Badulla hill-country railway line and get down at Talawakele Railway Station. From there, you can take a tuk-tuk or taxi to reach the waterfall viewpoint. The waterfall can also be seen during the train journey.
