Which season is best for travel?
Unawatuna Beach is best visited during the dry season, when the weather is sunny and the sea is calm. How can we arrive?
From Galle town / Galle Fort:
Take a tuk-tuk or taxi (about 10–15 minutes)
Follow the Galle–Matara main road towards Unawatuna
By train:
Travel to Unawatuna Railway Station (on the Colombo–Matara line)
From the station, walk or take a short tuk-tuk ride to the beach
By bus:
Take a bus from Galle Bus Stand towards Matara / Hikkaduwa
Get down at Unawatuna junction and walk or take a tuk-tuk to the beach
From Colombo or other cities:
Travel to Galle by train, bus, or car
Then continue to Unawatuna by tuk-tuk, taxi, or local bus
