Pedro Tea Estate & Tea Factory

View Basket

Overview

Located at the foot of Mount Pedro, the highest mountain in Sri Lanka, this is one of the oldest and most important tea factories in Nuwara Eliya. Established around 1885, this estate is famous for producing the world-famous "Lover's Leap", a very light and delicious tea (Lightest Tea). The specialty here is that unlike other factories, the tea production process (Processing) here mostly takes place at night. This work is done during the cool nights, as the temperature during the day can damage the quality of the tea leaves.

What can we do?

  • Factory Tour: With the help of guides, you can study the production process (Drying, Rolling, Fermenting, Grading) step by step from the tea leaves to the tea powder we drink.

  • Scenic Walk: Taking photos along the paths that run through the tea garden.
