How can we arrive?

Thuparama Image House (Thuparama Gedige) is located inside the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, and it can be easily reached by bus, train, or private vehicle. Visitors can travel to Polonnaruwa town from major cities in Sri Lanka and then continue to the archaeological site, which is only a few kilometers from the town center.

By Bus

Regular buses operate to Polonnaruwa Bus Station from Colombo, Kandy, Dambulla, and other major cities.

From the bus station, Thuparama Image House can be reached by tuk-tuk, taxi, or local transport in about 10–15 minutes.

By Train

Take a train to Polonnaruwa Railway Station.

From the station, the ancient city area is around 5–6 km away, and visitors can continue by tuk-tuk, taxi, or bus.

Travel by road via the A11 highway or other connecting routes to Polonnaruwa.
