How can we arrive?
Alagalla Mountain Range can be accessed via Ihala Kotte or Poththapitiya, roughly 25 km from Kegalle town and 100 km from Colombo.
By Bus
Board any main bus traveling along the Colombo–Kandy highway (A1). Get off at Mawanella or Kadugannawa, followed by a local bus towards Poththapitiya / Rambukkana, then hire a tuk-tuk to the trailhead.
By Train
Take the Main Line train from Colombo Fort towards Kandy. Get off at Ihala Kotte Railway Station, which is one of the most popular starting points for trekking up Alagalla.
